Today I was honored to announce the endorsements of the Chicago Teachers Union, SEIU Illinois State Council, Grassroots Illinois Action Network, Jesus “Chuy” Garcia, and 35th Ward Alderman Carlos Ramirez-Rosa for my campaign for State Senate in Illinois' 2nd District. As a proud product of Chicago Public Schools and as a son of two union parents, I am proud to receive the support from these organizations and public servants who fight tirelessly to strengthen working families in our community. If elected, I will be a strong voice against Republican Governor Bruce Rauner’s destructive turnaround agenda which has disastrous consequences for working families and unions. As Senator, I will fight to protect vital services that help the most vulnerable, including seniors, single mothers and children.
